Why this is a systems problem, not an adoption problem.
In the Romanian Bar's own 2026 survey, 74% of responding lawyers said they use AI tools. Of those, 86% keep sensitive or identifiable data out of them and 59% avoid AI entirely for confidential work. So the profession has adopted AI, and then deliberately switched off the part of the work where it would matter most.
That gap is not closed by a better prompt. It is closed by deciding where the data lives, who can see what, and how every answer points back to its source.

Questions that come up.
Can AI be used on confidential client files?
Yes, if the system is designed for it. That means knowing where each document is processed, who can access it and what is logged. For the most sensitive work the system can run entirely inside your own infrastructure, with nothing leaving it. The audit decides which work belongs where before anything is built.
Will it replace junior lawyers?
I don't think so. It changes what their first hours on a file look like: less searching, more reading of the right sources. Well-deployed AI tends to help the less experienced most, which makes it a training aid as much as a productivity one.
How is this different from buying a legal AI product?
A product knows the public law and somebody else's contracts. It doesn't know your precedents, your house positions or your clients. Sometimes a product is the right answer, and I'll say so. When it isn't, the build runs on your own documents.
Does it work for Romanian law?
That is what ai-aflat.ro was built for: all Romanian legislation in force, searched by describing a situation, with every answer citing the article and linking the official source.
Do you advise on AI Act compliance?
I design systems so the obligations are met by construction: oversight, logging, transparency. The legal opinion on your firm's obligations belongs to a lawyer, which, on this page, is probably you.
